Introduction:<\/strong> The main concern of this day is to highlight the threats imposed to the Himalayan ecosystem and measures to come out of it. The College celebrated Himalayan day with an aim to bring to the knowledge of students about this day, its importance and significance and also be a part of statewide celebrating the day.<\/p>\n

Invite speakers:<\/strong>
\nDr. Harshwanti Bisht (Dy Director of RUSA) was invited as a guest speaker, who is a very significant personality of India. She is a professor of Economics, conservationist, mountaineer, and has been awarded the Sir Edmund Hillary Mountain Legacy Medal 2014. Not only this, but she has dedicated her life in studying and improving the conditions in Gangotri, Uttarakhand area for a very long time. She shared with the students her experiences and field work done in the Gangotri region.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ashwani Sharma, also one of the very eminent personalities, Retd. IFS Officer, Former Vice Chancellor ICFRI and an advisor to the UCBMS&H College, too enlightened the students in the very topic of Himalayan Conservation, sharing also his experience and research done for a long time, where he discussed about the biodiversity of Himalayas its varieties and conservation.<\/p>\n

To encourage the involvement of the students, the symposium had posters competition in which the students of various departments of Life Science and Paramedical participated with their poster presentation fully dedicated to the topic of the day. Each poster were created keeping in mind the important topic of conservation and related to the thrust of Himalayans Day. The students were felicitated for winning and appreciated for their participation.<\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/strong> The speakers share their experience and knowledge is productive for students. Students enhance Knowledge about conservation of Himalayan diversity & its ecology.<\/p>\n
