On the occasion of ‘age related macular degeneration & low vision awareness’ Optometry Department Organized awareness program for our college students.
INTRODUCTION OF ARMD– ARMD is the condition in which due to increase of age. The changes occurs in the retinal macular area are degenerated and threats the central vision of the patients.
INTRODUCTION OF LOW VISION- Low vision is to describe significant visual impairment that can’t be corrected fully with glasses, contact lenses, medication or eye surgery. It includes: Loss of. Best-corrected visual acuity to worse than 20/70 in the better eye.
On the occasion of Low vision & Age Related Macular Degeneration Awareness day optometry department organized a program on 6th of February 2020. Optometry 1st, 2nd & 3rd year Students participated in this awareness program under the supervision of two faculty members Miss. Radhika & Miss Pridhi Panwar. The venue for the program was college auditorium. The program was organized post lunch in which we aware the students of first year of MM, BPT, MLT, Radiology, DMLT.
The program consists of various activities performed by the faculty of optometry and students of optometry department. The activities are listed below :
