EVENT SUMMARY
On September 21 The department of Medical Laboratory Technology & Medical Microbiology Organized workshop on the subject of TISSUE PROSSESING & STAINING OF TISSUES .This focused on the different techniques of tissue processing.
1-Tissue fixation
2-Decalcification of tissue
3-Dehydration of tissue
4-Clearing of tissue
5-Impregnation & embedding
6- Microtomy
7-Staining (PAS and H&E)
On the beginning of workshop Ms. Niharika Thapliyal, Assistant Professor of MLT department gave meaningful presentation on the topic of “Tissue processing & staining”.
Participation done by students of MLT department, BMM department. After the presentation session students were divided by faculty in different group and they were advised to go in Histopathology laboratory for the Gross cutting of tissue specimen like Gall bladder, Breast lump and uterus. Than one by one they have performed different techniques of tissue processing. The whole session has been running all over the day till 6:30 pm. During the workshop students make tissue paraffin blocks and prepared thin section of tissues by microtomy. They have shared their thoughts and doubts to faculty members.
