Plants and flowers that boost your mood

It’s an interesting fact that by having indoor plants and flowers , we not only breathing better indoor air but also elevates our mood. Here are a few types of plants and flowers that help reduce stress. These can even foster feelings of happiness around us.

Basil- Apart from its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, basil also helps in improving mood. Much like improving the taste of a dish, it helps in boosting our mood as a compound called linalool in the plant has a positive effect on us. This compound is also responsible for the delicious scent of the plant.

Roses- Associated with the feeling of love, people not just love to smell but also love to gaze at rather. A study in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology says that people who looked at roses felt more comfortable and happy in general in their lives.

Rosemary- Rosemary symbolizes positivity for interior designers. The aroma of the needles is enchanting, which may recall the memory of a sunny day and add up to one’s feeling of positivity.

Orchids- Orchids help to improve air quality, relieve stress and improve focus. Perhaps, this is the reason why Feng Shui practitioners love to use orchids for increasing positive energy in homes.

Lavender- The aroma of this beautiful flower is said to reduce our anxious feelings. But as this flower is not easily available and is also very costly, so we can use lavender scented candles and perfumes.

Geranium- Belonging to the category of the most beautiful flowers, geranium plant is said to promote the peace of mind due to its mild scent. It has a similar smell as that of roses.
