“Cornea Anatomy & Physiology”

[/fusion_title][fusion_text]

A Guest lecture was organized for the students on the topic “Anatomy & Physiology of the cornea” by Guest Speaker Dr. Ankit Sharma, MBBS, MS (Ophthalmology) & he done 3 year fellowship from Shroff’s Eye Hospital, New Delhi at present he is clinical incharge Annand Netrayala, Tilak Road, Dehradun. He specialize in cornea and refractive surgery and carried out more than 250 surgeries.

Students learned about anatomy and physiology and development of cornea. Cornea is the transparent front part of the eye that covers the iris, pupil, and anterior chamber. Students learn about layers, blood supply, nerve supply and drug permeability of the cornea. Students learn about horizontal, vertical and posterior diameter, central and peripheral thickness, central, anterior and posterior radius, anterior posterior and total refractive power and refractive index of the cornea.
